Broccoli

Broccoli originally called “Broccolo”.

Broccoli was named after the Italian word “Broccolo”, that means cabbage sprout.

Broccoli is an example of the crop there been developed over many hundred years. Broccoli originates from wild cabbage northern in the Mediterranean area, in Roman times. It spread out through Europe in the 14 century.

It came to the USA in the colonial times but became first popular in the 1920s.

Broccoli have since the 6th century BC. Through careful breeding, been developed into the vegetable we know today.

Broccoli comes in many colors. Ranging from purplish-green and dark green all the way deep sage.

Broccoli has almost the double amount of C vitamins as Florida Oranges. And that is only one of the good benefits of Broccoli.

It is a very healthy vegetable even it is almost 90 % water.
